Minnesota has a new law that goes into effect this Friday:
-No texting while driving. Sending e-mails or surfing the web on your Blackberry or iPhone will also be prohibited. This violation can cost up to $300.

The Minnesota Museum of American Art has once again lost its director and more than likely its home. Despite a positive numbers change in attendance, financial problems remain. The museum’s recent focus on historic & contemporary Minnesota artists & the popular summer evening “patio parties” featuring local bands have drawn a new audience. With all of the positives, the reality is the museum must be taken seriously by the city in order to have a home.
HEY, WHATS THAT SMELL?, the upcoming comedy tour reuniting the original stoner duo Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong will be unveiled Wednesday.
Last night MTV premiered their new show HOMECOMING. This series is hosted by Kanye West and an MTV’s Sway Calloway. Kanye & Sway show up at the homes of three veterans who have returned home from Iraq and surprise them with a voice and gifts ranging from debts paid off, tuition funded & rent taken care of.
MTV and the Dr. Donda West Foundation provided most of the money for the gifts, with additional support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Charles Schwab.
Amongst the trendy bars & cafes in Uptown, LA Fitness will open up a 31,500 square foot sports club in Calhoun Square. The opening is scheduled for 2009.
